NewdowToday RAEL nominated Michael Newdow as an honorary guide of our atheist organization for his commitment to remove any mention of god in the US public life.
Two years ago Michael Newdow, who is qualified both as a doctor and a lawyer, won a ruling from a San Francisco court that the mention of God in US public schools violated the constitutionally-enshrined separation of church and state. But the ruling was later overturned by the US Supreme Court. He didn't stop his battle then and tried lately to legally stop prayers being said at President George W Bush's upcoming inauguration.
The Raelian Movement is the largest atheist organization in the world and has won several battles on this field. The latest was in the city of Milano in Italy where we were given the right to claim \" there is no god\" in the streets for a length of time equal to the ring of the bells in the neighboring churches.... a very fun party in these Italian streets:-)
The 60000 members of the raelian movement are happy to welcome Mr. Newdow
