Human cloning will not be a crime against Humanity

But religious beliefs and special political interests still overshadow science in policy making

Bb July 31 58 Political manoeuvring and religious pressures dominated the decision making process around the human cloning debate at the UN as well as at the US Congress for the past 5 years.
A few days ago, the UN called on countries to ban all forms of human cloning "incompatible with human dignity." The American religious right claims victory, the Union of Concerned Scientists stays concerned . and patients who could be cured are still dying and suffering!
Dr. Boisselier, spokesperson of the Raelian Movement and President of Stemaid, a sister company of Clonaid that does stem cell lines using cloned embryos declares: We all know that in a few years, Humanity will look back to the human cloning debate and feel ashamed for all the people who have been suffering and dying while they could be saved if the money used for bombing was put into stem cell application researches.
She added: It seems that the threat of having human cloning declared a crime against humanity is over, but I hope that what the governments like the Bush administration are doing will be considered as a crime for non assistance to people in danger soon.

The Raelian Movement keeps a list of all the individuals who are preventing stem cell applications to happen and will make sure that these people have no access to the results of these researches when they are finally available to the public.
Dr Boisselier says: We need to make sure that we never forget how religious beliefs are dictating science today and learn form this mistake so that our future science is never stopped by the philosophy of the past.

All major steps in science have been delayed in the same way in the past by religious leaders, especially the catholic pope who has now tens of doctors assisting today with the technologies that the previous popes tried to stop.

The Prophet Rael reminds us that ethics is always related to religion as ethics are different depending on religious background. As an exemple, it is ethically correct to have several wives if you are muslims but very unethical if you are Christians.
"Ethics" is simply a last-gasp attempt by deist conservatives and orthodox dogmatics to keep humanity in ignorance and obscurantism, through the well tried fermentation of fear, the fear of science and new technologies.

There is nothing glorious about what our ancestors call history, it is simply a succession of mistakes, intolerances and violations.

On the contrary, let us embrace Science and the new technologies unfettered, for it is these which will liberate mankind from the myth of god, and free us from our age old fears, from disease, death and the sweat of labor.
